Next Steps – Community-Wide Inclusion, Interaction & Discussion
(Apr. 24, 2017) WOLF LAUREL, N.C. – The Wolf Laurel Roads Maintenance and Security Homeowner’s Association (WLRMS) approved the Long Range Planning Committee Report during the April 21 public Board meeting.
John Beneke, WLRMS Board President and Chair of the Long Range Planning (LRP) Committee, presented the one-page report for discussion and comment during the public Board meeting. The WLRMS full Board voted to accept the report as submitted following discussion. The LRP Report is posted on the WLRMS website under the Reports tab for all property owners’ review.
The WLRMS established the Long Range Planning Committee in fall, 2016, and charged it with considering the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that could impact the Wolf Laurel community’s future. The LRP Committee was tasked to make specific, actionable recommendations that would help the community elevate its standards of safety, security, sound governance, transparent fiscal policies and competitive real estate values.
The LRP Committee participated in a work session with the WLRMS Board, conducted a community-wide survey in November, 2016, that drew 180 property owner responses, and held numerous conversations with community leaders and residents that helped develop the final report.
Going forward, the WLRMS LRP Committee intends to meet with the leadership of all associations within Wolf Laurel, and other organizations operating in and adjacent to our community to gain their input and support of the LRP Report going forward. In addition, WLRMS intends to hold a Town Hall meeting in June to encourage discussion, consideration and support from the entire community going forward.
The Board encourages all property owners to go to the WLRMS website and review the LRP Report. Please use the website contact portal to engage with any comments or questions you might have prior to the Town Hall meeting.
It should be noted that no Long Range Plan to enhance the future of our community can or will be implemented without the active, majority support of the associations, organizations and property owners that comprise our community. Your active engagement is requested.
Members of the Long Range Planning Committee are WLRMS President John Beneke, Vice President John Ames, Ken Faliero and Mel Poole.
